Design your Makerspace
A makerspace is a collaborative workspace for learning, exploring and sharing within the areas of electronics, 3D printing, 3D modelling, coding, robotics and even woodworking, fostering entrepreneurial and technological skills commonly used by incubators and accelerators for business startups. Teachers are equipped and supported to deliver highly effective lessons that develop 21st century skills in students including critical thinking, problem-solving and programming. These skills help students to take the next steps in their studies and are ultimately prized by employers within Industry 4.0 and the world of work generally.
Makerspace technology is aimed at both STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) and arts subject specialists for key stages 3 and 4 and provides curriculum support in the use of 3D printers, laser cutters, 3D scanners, robotics and supporting technologies and skills. These educational spaces help teachers create and deliver engaging learning experiences so students of all abilities can find their strengths and realise their potential.
Working individually or in teams, students are able to constantly motivate and support each other as they design solutions to real world challenges and research and write about their creations. The educational possibilities that come with the encouragement to bring their ideas to life in the classroom are endless.
Daemon 3D Print offers cutting edge makerspace products, inspirational lesson plans and story-based course materials to help teachers generate student interest and understanding of these key technologies.
Laser Cutters
Grow your makerspace with our Flux laser cutters and create without boundaries. Laser cutters allow you to cut and engrave on a wide variety of materials bringing your designs to life in a short amount of time or simply to prototype, ensuring that you’re on the right track to the perfect results. Flux laser cutters are safe and easy to use allowing you to focus on being creative.
Robotics
Our Dobot robotics range provides a fun and easy introduction into the world of robotics and coding while allowing students to build their coding skills. From a simple teach and play moving sequence to using Blockly to teach logical processes, programming a Dobot arm in Python to recognise and sort shapes and colours or even 3D printing - the possibilities and learning journeys are endless.
3D Printing
3D printing is now a vital part of a student’s education and MakerBot has been a pioneer in helping educators drive innovation thanks to having built a platform that supports teachers and students through the entire process. Maximise students’ innovation and unlock their creativity with accessible 3D printing and project-based learning.
3D Scanning
Discover the limitless possibilities of the 3D world with our EinScan 3D Scanners; in just a short amount of time you can recreate the world around you on your screen. 3D Scanners allow for countless possibilities from scanning, amending and preparing for 3D printing and are a great tool to open students up to countless possibilities.
Curriculum Support
From our inspirations sheets, lesson plans and fully timetabled story-based course materials, we aim to not only support your makerspace ‘space’ but also your makerspace usage and curriculum integration. Our Maker’s Red Box challenges students to think, create and solve problems using a mix of traditional crafts and digital technology including 3D printing, laser cutting, soldering and programming. We aim to give you and your student ideas, tools and curriculum focused outcomes which surround you with ideas for utilising prototyping technology such as 3D printers, laser cutters, micro controllers and soldering stations.
